About Radford University Theatre
Whether you seek a diversion, a sense of community, or a life’s work, the dynamic Department of Theatre and Cinema is your gateway to the magical world of theatre.
The Department of Theatre and Cinema offers comprehensive liberal arts curriculum and production programs. We are deeply committed to the teaching and learning processes and strive to nurture the development of creative, independent, well-educated students who are able to work collaboratively in an increasingly technologically-rich environment. The department values each student's individuality and provides a forum for close interaction with students, faculty and community. Production activities are a vital component of our classroom teaching. Students are expected to take material from the classroom and apply the information to pre-professional experiences. The artistic process is our effort to address the challenges of our dynamic society.
RU Theatre alumni go on to a wide array of careers within and without the entertainment industry. From television stars to high school theatre teachers to independent artists, graduates credit RU Theatre with providing the foundation for their success!
